Mario's little friend Yoshi appeared in 1991 in Super Mario World. Yoshi is a dinosaur with a huge nose and a LONG toung. That's how he gets all the enemies. He can also flutter in midair for a second or so. Yoshi is personally my favorite. He also has his own games like the Yoshi's Island series...
